Much Shelist Elevates Adam Sacharoff to Chair of Intellectual Property & Technology Practice Group, Welcomes Evan Brown as Principal in Group

Chicago-based law firm Much Shelist announced today that Adam K. Sacharoff, Principal, has been elevated to Chair of the firm’s Intellectual Property & Technology practice group. In addition, the firm welcomed Evan D. Brown as a new Principal in the group.

Adam Sacharoff provides clients with a full range of patent-related legal services, including U.S. and international patent prosecution, patent opinions, pre-litigation counseling, ex parte and inter partes patent reexamination, due diligence of intellectual property assets, and patent licensing. He also counsels clients on trademarks and copyright matters, as well as a broad range of technology matters including sweepstakes, on-line privacy matters, and licensing. Adam has filed and prosecuted hundreds of patent applications in the United States and throughout Europe, South America, and Asia. His experience extends to patent prosecution in the fields of mechanical arts, aerospace, medical devices, computer-related inventions and business methods. He also provides comprehensive legal services on an international basis in the areas of trademarks, trade dress, unfair competition, the internet, trade secrets, and copyright laws. Adam received a J.D. from Franklin Pierce Law Center and a B.S. in Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from Purdue University.

Evan Brown advises companies of all sizes on matters pertaining to technology, intellectual property and privacy. His practice covers a wide range of related issues, such as licensing, online services, cloud-based technology, data security, social media, copyright and trademark protection and advertising. Evan has extensive experience drafting and negotiating licensing and master service agreements for both providers and users of cloud-based technology and technology-hosting services, including those used by major airlines. His strategic counsel helps clients comply with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), the Communications Decency Act (Section 230), and the Healthcare Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). Evan is an experienced litigator in federal and state court, defending and asserting clients’ rights in copyright and trademark infringement disputes, domain name disputes, breach of contract, and matters related to unauthorized access to computer systems and communications. He received a J.D. from University of Denver College of Law and a B.A. from Wabash College in Crawfordsville, IN.
